JD 350 weight
I might buy a JD 350 diesel dozer with a hydraulic 6 way blade. Anyone know what it weighs? I've hauled 1010s with wide and narrow blades with winches before. With my trailer weight at 4500 lbs. empty; even a small dozer is a load for my 3/4 ton 4x4, 360 cid, gas, automatic Dodge. (loaded 7 miles p/gal) Thanks, gregjo1948

Re: JD 350 weight
It depends if there is ROPS on it or not. Without your around 9000, with ROPS your around 11000. Thats the reason I never bought one! Too much for my truck and trailer. It also depends on what model 350 your looking at 350, 350b, etc.
1956 JD420, gearmatic 8a winch, custom 6 way blade and FOPS.
Re: JD 350 weight
no chance that the ROPS weighs one-ton on a 350. a few hundred pounds, yes, but not a ton.notmeu wrote:It depends if there is ROPS on it or not. Without your around 9000, with ROPS your around 11000. the 6-way blade assembly weighs plenty.

350 weight
Thanks ALL--It's a 350 w/no rops. From the responses, sounds like my 1010 diesel w/winch probably weighs nearly as much. Can anyone tell me if the 350 has power steering or is it the same as the 1010? Is there anything about the 350 that was a common problem that I should look for? gregjo1948

KenP--Thanks for power steering info and I've said 350 twice. I guess i'll say 350 with no suffix. There are no Bs Cs Ds or any other letters after the 350. I've had several JD dozers/loaders and know the usual things to look for when inspecting a machine. I just thought there might be something unusual to look for on a 350 w/no letters.

Wally, when someone says "around", that means it is not a exact number. I know I said around twice in the weights. As kenp said there wasn't enough information at that time of the post.wally wrote:no chance that the ROPS weighs one-ton on a 350. a few hundred pounds, yes, but not a ton.notmeu wrote:It depends if there is ROPS on it or not. Gregjo, their has been so much written in the recent past about what to look for if shopping for a 350 deere that it would be overkill to put it all out there once again. try searching for the answers you seek and if you are having trouble with that I will gladly help you find the posts. combining words on the search takes a few tries to get the hang of the search, but their is a huge amount of stuff there.

As Scott, mentioned, I know this particular subject has been discussed for 350s so shouldn't be too hard to find a number of them. Here is one of them:

If you're getting to the point that a couple hundred pounds either way matters then probably too much for your truck and trailer combo.

Re: JD 350 weight
whatever. do the math you presented. that's 2000 pounds, or one ton. even "around" that, the number would be north of 1500 pounds. don't lecture me about "when someone says", because YOU said a 350 ROPS weighs around one ton. i don't care about the model number. a factory ROPS on a 350, 350B, 350C doesn't weigh 1500 pounds, let alone 2000. are you sure you know what ROPS is?notmeu wrote:Wally, when someone says "around", that means it is not a exact number. Thank you ALL for your info. I think I'll go back to the early model forum. The tone of the posts seem to be a bit arguementative on here and I'm very sensitive. gregjo1948
