350 transmission

Post by rcs110 » Sun Apr 07, 2013 6:43 pm

has any rebuilt a transmission on a 350 , after sitting all winter I did some work with the 350 this weekend and started to hear a noise in reverse the 350 stopped and i could not sift it out of gear,
it has a reverser and it was making a winding noise in when in reverse,
while moving forward it stopped, unable to sift it in to neutral on the transmission gear sift , I did have to add oil to transmission and then I was able to get it moving again It was stuck on a hill when i added the oil.

the 350 after that worked fine for about one hour then started to here like a bearing noise it got stuck again and after shifting it back and fourth it started to move so i parked it and now thinking i broke something in the transmission. any one have any ideas??

well after taking it apart it looks like I will have to get the following parts :
1. transmission input shaft with new bearings( the rear bearings broke apart took a few gears with it. t23653 shaft & jd8187 bearing &jd8225 bearing cup

2.2nd and reverse speed gear t16326

plus a few small other things that I found wrong that need to be fix.

so far it took 6 hours to take apart. the only thing left is to remove the transmission form the machine and that I need help with, so I to wait til May to get this done.

will post more pictures when that happens.
