JD 450 track slipping

I'm new here, and just posted a question about my JD 350. Now, I am very mechanical, and can fix anything. I have more manuals than I can count, and they are a valuable resource. I hope my question doesn't seem foolish, as I first need to diagnose the problem, before I begin the repairs. How many times have all of us thrown time and money at a repair not really knowing if it will solve the problem? We are all looking for an easier way to deal with what we encounter with our crawlers. I guess I could just start tearing that sucker apart, and I'm bound to find out whats wrong with it. Bouncing questions off of others who may have already had our experience, can save alot of time and trouble.... Maybe.
