i have a 450c dozer and it is kicking out of gear when on a steep hill.The right side track will kick out first then the left.Does anyone have any expereince with this or know where to start to repair.

What you are describing is obviously not kicking out of gear. I think your problem would be a lack of pressure in the transmission pump circuit. Get a pressure gauge and check the pressure at idle.

Check your transmission fluid level first. It may just be low on fluid. Then check the pressure.
40 plus years working on JD 350s, 400Gs, 450s and other equipment both Ag and Construction.
