350B Tough Starter when sitting

Post by Hendersonccarpentry » Mon May 13, 2013 9:53 pm

Hey Guys,

When ever i start my 350 cold when its been sitting awhile (about 10-20 degrees celsius) i have to turn it over quite a bit. However if i let it cool down and start it a couple hours later it starts right up. I was wondering if maybe this could be my lift pump? or possibly a weak injection pump? or maybe the tappets? any advice would be appreciated.

Do you have any fuel leaks around the injection pump or fuel pump? Also, if you have a plugged up air vent in the fuel tank, the vaccuum would pull the fuel away from the injection pump.

i don't see any leaks externally and i haven't noticed my engine oil level rising from a bas seal in the injection pump. I had never thought about about a back pressure build up in the tank though, is their a breather?
