new to me 350 straight

Post by NWO Erik » Thu Oct 03, 2013 10:22 am

I have a recently acquired 350 straight gas dozer that does not have the reverser option......just reverse in the tranny.
IF I was able to find a similar vintage reverser from a donor tractor can it be installed in mine?

What is involved as far as additional parts or changes to what I have already. I understand that I will have to pull the engine, etc.....

As long as you have a complete reverser crawler to swap parts from you can do it. Whole center section gets replaced, clutch, clutch linkage, flywheel, isolator, and a host of other small things. Get a parts and service manual first and read through, you will see most of what has to be done.

about 6 years ago I did the same thing(also converted to diesel). If your desire is the challenge of a project then do it!! if you want a 350 with a direction reverser to use then buy one already running!! keep us posted

Non reverser 350's

Post by JWB Contracting » Thu Oct 03, 2013 6:57 pm

Anyone have any idea how many non-reverser 350's were made. My dad put one in the shed with an inside mount manual angle dozer and a gas engine as he thought it was rare. I think it's taking up space in the shed that I could be using.
