I know a root grapple isnt that crazy but I thought it would stir up some conversation! Anybody have one like this or have used one? Im assuming any 450 platform tool would fit my G series right?

Running a brush grapple without a canopy .....that takes stones.
It's an interesting idea but to single purpose a machine like that seems wasteful to me. I like the machines that still have there buckets and a brush grapple over the top that is removable. Much more functional to me but to each his own, it looks very well made.

I have purchased a grapple that will go onto the front of my logging 350b that has a winch on the back. . I am hoping to get this done soon so I can use it this winter. I have the pipe for a ROPS as well.

This was a good thread (with photos) about making a quick attach for removable front attachments on a crawler:

Sorry, missed this one. We have had an ANBO grapple on a 350B loader for many years, works great. If it was only a brush rake, we would never have put it on, no comparison. The ability to function as a rake, and then grab whatever it is you pushed up makes it so much more versatile than only being able to push into a pile.
They are not cheap, but no grapple that will stand up to a crawler is going to be. We put quick couplers on the hyd hoses for the grapple, so if needed the bucket can be put back on without a lot of effort.

Ultimate clean up tool I would say.....almost any terrain is doable and it will even scrape the surface rocks out along with the brush/roots. I dont want to put much money into this project so purchasing a used one even is out of the question. I do have machine tools and a gas wire feed welder at my disposal. I cant talk myself into anything Ive drawn in Autocad so far but when I do you guys will get pics!
