well.. got the new harness piece from deere. exactly the same as what I just tried from napa. I must have some sort of replacement switch? there is a plastic ridge between the two "buttons" that wont allow the connector to slide on. Any ideas?

Cut the wires and put on two female spade terminal connectors or something very similar that will go on the terminals.

the connector is a packard 56 type they are made i a single version but may not fit side by side on your switch but you can get just the bare connectors http://www.pcsconnectors.com/2962965.aspx

That's the ones I was thinking of, didn't know what they were called. I have put female spades on them in the past, and it will work, just probably not as good as the correct one.

Lurch do you still have the original clip with the broken wires? if you do then you can just put new ends in it
