No that 450 is long gone The last I saw of it it had about 24000 hours on it of that we put on 16000 and the rest were put on by a beach cleaning outffit on the Huron shore line I saw it a few years ago and checked the hours then and it was beyond tired I have never seen tracks that bad in my life My dad never ran junk but we broke 6 more little Deeres in since then .When I saw the old 450 that is. The next dozer a 450 B is still going strong I was looking through the truck trader and there it was one day for 15000 I called the guy and told him that we paid a thousand bucks more new for it new We had a good chat and I guess I traded that at the right time .With only about 900 more hours he had replaced and rebuilt .motor- trans-rearend gears-just to name a few of the repairs done [better him than me!]and if you would have asked me the B was in better shape when sold . I busted the bell housing casting on that dozer .And dont do that if you arent holding on for dear ? Deere life.

WOW, now thats what i call getting your moneys worth out of a machine!
wish the hour meter hadnt broke on the old 420. grampa bought it a year old and used it for logging and around the sawmill until they closed up around 1986 or so. he bought a D4 new in 1940, still have it but dont run it that much. the little 420 is much easier to operate and will do the work of that old D4. kinda like tinkering with it tho.
