JD350C Reverser

Post by Cold Oil » Thu Jun 12, 2014 2:26 pm

We have a JD350C with no forward or reverse motion. I suspect it is the reverser and am in the process of doing the pressure tests. My question is what is the most likely thing/part to fail on the reverser? Any info or opitions are welcomed

If it happened all at once without noise it is more likely the splined coupling behind the reverser. Check your pressures, but the reverser will need to come out whether pressure is good or bad.

Thanks for the information! I plan on the pressure tests this weekend. Has there been any problems with the reverser's oil pump? I do believe this problem happened all at once and may even happened when parked

If you have pressure or hear a distinct change in tone when shifting from forward to reverse in neutral then the pump and reverser are probably okay and suspect the splined coupling. If no pressure then suspect the isolator on the flywheel ahead of the reverser. But be advised that running with a blown isolator can be dangerous to the equipment. Either way at least the engine comes out.
