450 reverser oil
450 reverser oil
hello can anyone tell me how to check reverser oil level? Is there a dipstick or plug? Filler hole? I lost a line to the reverser and finally managed to replace it and boy what a job it was. So now pretty sure it must be low or empty. Help!!!!!!!!!

Well I guess I'm not that lucky. I found two rubber plugs approx 2.5" in dia and one hole approx 1/2" dia. No dip stick. Maybe I am missing mine. I removed the floor plates and checked all over. The hole is deep and I figure it is the dip hole so can anyone measure their dipstick from top of plug to fill line and maybe I can make a stick to measure. If anyone can post a pic of the stick in place that would help immensely. Can the stick be seen with the floor plates in place? Can I buy a new dip stick from somewhere?

Firetech do you know which submodel you have (straight 450, 450B, 450C)?
FYI, the online parts diagrams for the 450 submodels always show it being on the top of the HLR towards the front (i.e. the first (large) cover on the top). I'm guessing what differs between submodels is how the seat base arranged relative to the large top cover on the HLR. It does show it as a stickup tube with dipstick which would be consistent with the photo posted, Jrichard's description, and the tube/dipstick on my HLR for my 2010.
If you want to look for yourself at the parts diagram go to this link and search for "450" in the model search at top left, then go to the "922- 450 Crawler Tractor" link in the search results, then Sectional Index 35, Index 7:
