350b track frame shims?

Post by mc_mike » Thu Jul 31, 2014 7:43 pm

I am installing a new undercarriage on my 350b, I removed the track frames from the machine to make the rusty bolt removal easier with the rock guards and rollers. I am now installing the complete track frame with new rollers. My question is I understand the shims put in place on the rear crossmember to center the sprocket in the roller, but the frame needs to move the opposite direction. I made all new bushings for the 6 track frame bolts. The 2 on the side and the 4 on the top. Should I shim the track frame out at the front cross member or just figure out how to adjust the rear crossmember mount. I can see several ways to accomplish centering the sprocket in the roller, but looking for the easiest and correct way to accomplish. Hopefully what I typed made sense.... suggestions?

Pages from 450 manual regarding track carrier and alignment. Is that what you were looking for?

My take is: leave front equilzer and adjust using shims on rear bar...
