550H Won't Move!

Post by 430c/440ic » Sun Aug 03, 2014 9:39 pm

My brother has a 550H LGP on a job site out of town. He had a hydraulic hose blow that he told me it goes from the left final to the right side. He was pushing when it blew out, lost fluid and stopped in its tracks. After removing the winch he found that it rubbed through on the winch pto. Now with a new hose and refilled the transmission it still won't move. The local deere dealer hasnt been much help. Any ideas or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I know absolutely nothing about 550's, but I would loosen the ends of the replaced hose and see if you can bleed out the air.

You might try to ping (PM) Digitup2 as he is probably the most familiar with the newer, larger Deere crawlers like a 550H. I guess one thing to consider, if true is that on the newer common sump machines (meaning fluid common to transmission, finals, etc.) that refilling the transmission may not have refilled all sump areas. However that would strictly be a guess on my part, and additional speculation on my part would just make your situation sound worse.

Thanks for the ideas. The hose that was replaced was bled out multiple times and only had very little air come out the first time it was bled. I sent digitup2 a message the same day I posted here, but he has not responded yet. I was hoping he would have some insight of what needs to be done. Thanks for the ideas, if anyone has anything else to try please let me know.
