jd 350b regulator

Post by jfischer » Sat Aug 09, 2014 12:38 pm

Anyone know where I can obtain the 6-wire regulator for my 350b. Did all the tests and this appears to be reason battery not charging. Been told i can pay half the price for new alternator (present one tested fine) and bypass the regulator. Not sure about that one. Thanking anyone for replies. jmf.

Some previous owner of my 350 did just that, changed the original for a Delco Remy 3 wire alternator. I wished they had paid attention to what junk pile they got the alternator from... it was 24v! I had to pay $50 to get it changed to 12v.

No big deal to wire up the alternator. They left the regulator where it was from the factory... I removed that.

I put a Delco 1 wire alternator on my straight 350 a few years back. You may need to modify your existing alternator pulley. Easy install, works well and my total cost was a little over $110.00 with a freshly rebuilt alternator.
