Picking up a 79 350c, can't wait!!

Post by cantbeatadeere » Fri Sep 12, 2014 2:22 am

Well, I put a post on here a couple weeks ago about a 350c I was looking at that made noise, finally made a deal with the guy. it is a true 2086 hr dozer that has had some love over the years so I had to pull the trigger on it. like everything,(always something) there is a mechanical noise I will have to address over the winter but, every fitting takes grease and works as it should, blade and controls are (no lie) almost as new for condition and tightness, steering, brakes, radiator, all the tin, rops, all excellent. would like to sand, paint, decal it to look new at some point. looked at a lot of these dozers that were"low hr. like new" dozer that I wouldn't give a dime for....close to 3 years of looking..paid a lot for it though.

Hi,

Kewl! :)

I know what you mean by 'like new and not worth a dime'. Also, take a look at my tag line. I could change it to read 'pay now or pay later', I suppose. :P

I hear ya Stan, this will be my first dozer and all I can do is hope I picked a good one. worked on a farm and have been an auto tech for many years and wanted a dozer for trail work, light grading and just to have fun on. :D

If the noise is in the area of the bellhousing/reverser, it is fairly common for the torsional isolator to make somewhat of a rattling noise or racket- of course at some point it gets worse and gives way but that could be some time.
