cool gard 2 antifreeze

I use cool gard 2 in my1983 450c problem is getting strips that aren't expired.When I start using cool gard 2 about 2 years ago the dealer told me just check it every 2 yrs: that it was good for six. Now they don't handle the test kit anymore because they don't sell enough of them before they expire.I put about 50 to 60 hrs on dozer a year.
My question is,should I just change the antifreeze every 2 years with cool gard 2 or go to a different brand. I don't know how long the strips are good for but at $26.00 for a package of ten that's 20 years's worth.
I'm open to any suggestions.
