Red Loctite is touted as requiring heat to remove parts after hardening; the blue Loctite is touted to be removed with hand tools.

red loctite for isolator bolts

Post by butchb » Wed Nov 19, 2014 6:16 am

after thinking it over red loctite would be better, because the last isolator installed in my machine spring broke. i bought this machine in september with a locked up motor for $2500, pulled motor out and pieces of springs fell out motor was not locked up.bought new isolator kit for $1300 , with motor out rebuilding it was a good idea $1500 for kit and machine work. got motor ready to go back in and injection pump had been leaking so i took it to shop and bosch pump was bad,so i have a new up graded pump and lines and gear. so now i am ready to put motor back in, have cleaned up flywheel only small marks found where spring wedge against bolt, so i better use the best loctite so this does not happen again. thanks for all the help butch

Isolator Explosion

Post by JWB Contracting » Wed Nov 19, 2014 11:17 pm

The destruction of the isolator is not from the bolts coming loose but the breaking of the springs, retainer bolts and centre section.

We just tighten them with a 1/2" flex handle.
