350C isolator CONVERSION - "C" to "D"

Post by cantbeatadeere » Mon Dec 22, 2014 5:57 pm

O.k. as many on here know I am converting my "C" isolator into a "D" series isolator to get rid of the rattle and potential reliability issues associated with the spring style. I have the flywheel, rubber isolator, rivets, and the center hub is done all but the splines that a machine shop is making for me(looks very nice I might add). I pulled the reverser out to get the proper endplay on the forward clutch hub and countershaft. also, I am replacing some seals and the coupler from the reverser output to the transmission input with all new parts from Deere. I intend to post some pics of this project as I assemble it. Hope to start putting it all back together come Friday and with a little luck have it done buy the end of the weekend.

I'm looking forward to your project as I am hoping to do the same when the weather breaks. I can't wait to see your pics and follow your progress.

Where are you in upstate NY. I'm in Remsen, about 20 miles N of Utica.

Heck Norb, I ride atv and sleds up your way all the time, I'm in the Camden area. when I am done this dozer will be as mechanically sound and complete as any you can find. I am using the parts manual and putting every nut, bolt, washer and component back to its' original state....even the "boot" over the tilt ram is new. tin work is almost perfect although the person whom painted it (long ago) did a kind of poor job in my eyes. as my father says "just leave it's work clothes on instead of making it pretty"........ maybe later.... :)

Gee we're almost next door neighbors. I don't have your background, I'm just an old broken down bricklayer. If I get a chance maybe I'll stop over and pick your brain. Lavoy is helping me with parts so I'm not ready to go yet but hopefully will be set when the weather starts to break.
