350 loader stuck clutch freed..now it's starting to slip ARG

Post by kilohertz » Sat Feb 14, 2015 5:35 pm

A few weeks ago I posted I had a stuck right clutch. I managed to free it up just by driving around the property. Worked great for a week. I had to adjust the power steering yokes as they were out of wack, then re-adjusted the clutch rod and brake. Driving it around today moving some firewood in the snow and the right drive started slipping. Found it really hard to maneuver. I managed to get back on firm ground and back to the driveway and parked. I adjusted again, the right clutch and the rod is almost all the way in, ie, can't make it any shorter. With the rod off the ball, there is no free play on the throw out bearing. The bell crank rod is free but there is no free play on the pressure plate fingers. Did something let go in here or do you think the clutch is toast? The left drives great, grabs really hard and never slips.

Is there anything I am missing and need to check?

Thanks.

Forgot to mention that the left side adjustment rod is right in the middle of its' range, there is plenty of free play and otherwise seems 100% normal. I suppose someone could have changed one clutch and not the other....but who knows.

Thoughts anyone?

thanks

Thats what it sounds like, somebody did the one side and not the other. once you get into the technical end of redoing one you'll understand why they would do that. If it ain't broke don't fix it
