Hi Everyone, New to the board..... I inherited a JD450 from my grandpa and have been chasing everything from steering clutches, loss of transmission pressure, to a bad drive clutch. Finally got all them fixed and ten minutes into using the machine and it threw a rod. put two holes in the block 2-3" in diameter.
I have a jd450 (type T5E3M) (serial number 049379T). I have a couple of questions... need some help...
1. How do I know what motor I have? I'm not certain if it is a 4.202 or a 4.219 There is a plate on the side of the motor just above the oil filter with AR59065 on it and there is also a casting stamp on the block that reads R55011 R55034
2.Someone told me I can use either a 4.202 or 4.219, Is this true? If so what do I have to do to make it work?
Anyone know where to get a good used motor? I'm not trying to spend more on the motor than what my old machine is worth.
Thanks for anyone's input.
Matt
