I developed a pinhole leak in the right hand steel tube that goes over the cylinder that controls the bucket tilt on my 350C loader. What would be the best way of fixing it? The pinhole is right at the 180 degree bend over the end of the cylinder closest to the operator. A close examination shows some impact damage where the tube had something hit it in the past.
Anyway, my plan of attack is going to be to remove it and braze it closed, probably leave a nickel sized patch of braze so it can support the surrounding area too. It's tempting to just braze or solder it with the tube still on the machine but I don't want to risk making some carbon flakes or something that might get stuck in a valve or something, that's how my luck usually runs...
Those of you that have done something similar before please feel free to comment, including suggesting I buy a new part if once they start getting pinholes they keep getting them or something, or if all I need to do is gob some JB Weld on a drywall screw and run it into the pinhole.....
