Is the steering clutch drum a press fit onto the splined hub? I've tried heating it carefully and tapping around the top of the splined hub with pry bars under the drum edge to apply pressure but no luck. How much force is needed to get the drum off? Anyone else have this problem? Thanks.

At this point, I'm wondering if I should just leave it alone and go ahead with replacing the clutch discs. The only reason for removing was going to be cleaning the backside of the final case.
