Im changing my old by pass oil canistor filter and putting a spin on filter newer filter, my question is can i make my own gasket out of gasket sheet matierl or do i need to buy a john deere gasket,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,:lol:

Nothing proprietory about the gasket material from deere. you can make your own a lot faster than going to get one from the deeler. Just don't forget to put the holes in for the oil to go through or you will hear this distinctive sound of bearings gauling then spinning on startup. That is a sound that will make you physically ill. :shock:
One question I would ask is will it make any difference to the old engine what filter bypass pressure you use? I think the old canister filters bybassed at a pretty low pressure if any at all.

the oil psi runs 40 to 35psi with old filter, does it make a difference if i change out old to new spin on filter,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,need help,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
