1965 450 crawler hydraulic leak

Post by RMAC » Thu Jul 02, 2009 10:36 am

I just purchased a 1965 450 for 4,700.00, it is leaking fluid from one of the steel lines that run along the frame on the right side of the machine, does anyone have any experience replacing these lines, as they are very difficult to access.

Hi-

I think you will need to be a little more specific for us to help you. Is it a dozer, loader, or bare crawler? Is it a hydraulic line leaking or another type of line?

You may want to also post in the late crawlers forum, since I am not sure Digitup and some of the ohters up on the 450 series read the early crawlers forum.
(1) JD Straight 450 crawler dozer with manual outside blade; (2) JD 2010 diesel crawler loaders; (1) JD 2010 diesel dozer with hydraulic 6-way blade; (2) Model 50 backhoe attachments, misc. other construction equipment

It is crawler, and the line is a hydraulic line running from the pump in the front to the rear. I'll post in the late forum.
Thank You
