Hi-

There may be a number of reasons you haven't gotten a response yet- one is that it has only been one workday. Also you aren't quite sure what model you really have and the location in upstate NY may limit the pool of interested buyers.

If you would like to post some pics to help us identify your machine for you, it really isn't too difficult. You have to use a third party hosting site (like Photobucket, which is free) and then link to it. I have a post that explains how to do this:

http://www.jdcrawlers.com/messageboard/ ... php?t=3690

As always, if you are in a hurry to sell there are a number of other classified and auction sites to make that happen but we do appreciate that you came here first as for most of us this is a passion to restore or use these older JD crawlers.

Huh, the link worked for me- checked it before posting. :?:

Anyhow, it is easy enough to find- go to the "Messageboard Announcements and Q&A" forum, and scroll about halfway down. The post is titled "Posting Photos Using Third Party Photosharing Website".

Thank you for the help, I'm sure the location is hurting. Maybe scrap prices will return to last years prices!! Come on China, you got room for more! Maybe have time next year to see what it needs to operate correctly, may help the sale. No biggie, never hurts to try. May have less value than I thought. Machine has not been sitting outside, I actually thought it looked good for what it is.

A 1010 in good working shape for $2500 is not a bad deal; I am sure being upstate NY is part of the issue. The other issue is that parts availability for the 1010s and 2010s is somewhat poorer than for other models, such as undercarriage or is Deere-only, such as for the diesel engines. That dissuades some from investing in this series crawler except for restoration.

I can understand if you need to sell quickly but would hate for you to scrap it; it is worth more in parts than scrap. If nothing else see if Ed at CrawlerHeaven wants to buy it for parts (he is in upstate NY). That would be more beneficial to crawler enthusiasts since parts are hard to come by.
