440 blade and 1010 blade

Post by klittle » Sun Dec 27, 2009 8:26 am

can anyone tell me what the difference is between the outside blade on the 440 crawler and the outside blade on the 1010 crawler? Will the parts catalog for the 1010 blade be the same as the 440 blade or is everything different?

The factory outside blade on the 440 is a Model 602. Do you know the model number of the blade that you have?

i have a parts catalog for the 624 blade on the 1010 and I was wondering if it would be the same as the parts catalog for the 602 blade? They look identical in the pictures but I don't know.

There might be minor differences, the later blades for the 1010 would tilt as well as angle. Otherwise, should be very close.

Merely a guess, but I believe some of the base parts could be the same, but some may very well be different, especially if it is the later blade with tilt that Lavoy mentions.
The Model 602 has hydraulic lift, and 25 degree angle either side. There is no tilt on the factory 602 blade.

Okay, just looked it up to be sure, 624 blade is for 2010, very little commonality with 602 other than basic design.

While on the topic of blades, I have a inside mount, 6 way, joy stick controled blade on my 440IC. How do I find out what number blade it is? I assume it is off of a newer machine [maybe a 1010]. I don't think the 440 had a 6 way from the factory. It works great. It's 5 degrees outside.

Dave
The inside mount 6-way blade for a 440IC is a model 64. I recently bought one and it will probably replace a 831 loader on one of my 440ICDs. If I decide the 440IC is salvageable I might just replace the 602 on it as an easier conversion. The 64 has a S/N Plate near the center pivot, I will have to look at this one to remember exactly where.
