Ring gear replacement??

I have a 1010 diesel crawler/loader that the guy that sold it to me said the ring gear was bad. I bought it for the loader and was going to put it on my 1010 gas dozer, but in looking at moving it, I am wondering if it would be eaiser to fix the rearend?? Any suggestions?

Ring gear fix will require a lot of work, complete tear down for the most part. Unless you want to get the crawler running again, not worth the effort.
