After over a year, and with a lot of help from Lavoy, I was able to get my 1957 JD 420 crawler going. However, it continually drifts to the left, and I have to yank on the right brake to straighten it. Is there some kind of adjustment to get it to track straight? Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Bob

Lavoy and others on here can get you tracking straight.
My guess would be things such as track misalignment on one side, track tighter on one side, steering clutch/brake adjustments, sprockets and/or chains with different amounts of wear.
Let us know what it ends up being and good luck!

as I read the thread I was thinking the same thing Lavoy,I saw an IH 125 crawler loader doing the same thing....it would walk off to the side and you would have to keep correcting it.
come to find out there were a couple of different final drive gearsets and this machine somehow over the years got one of each!!!!!
