John Deere 350

Post by 440_kid » Thu Mar 25, 2010 7:24 pm

How much is a John deere 350 worth that has a bad bearing in the transmision? How much is it to rebuild the transmission? Any help would be great? I don't have model numbers or serial numbers at this time. It does have a hydraulic six way blade and decent undercarriage.
Thank You

Almost impossible to answer with that amount of info. Say for example it has totally shot undercarriage, then it is worth what it weighs times the scrap price. The same crawler with like new undercarriage has substantially more value.
Kind of same song on trans rebuild. Is it only one bearing, or are there other beraings to replace? Are you going to replace all of the bearings while you have it apart? Are you doing the labor, or having it done at a dealer? Unfortunately there are no simple answers when it comes to crawlers.
If you did not have to put any gears in the trans or an input shaft, and replaced all of the bearings, done at a dealership, I would guess $2000-$4000 then add for steering clutch work and all the incendentals that should be replaced while it is apart.

I sure do agree with Lavoy on this one. I bought a 350 that would only go in one direction for a good price (or so I thought). I did all the work on the tear down and still spent 2500 in parts to get it back together. Good now but when I tore into it found all the little stuff that needed to be fixed.
