420 crawler carb

Post by justjd420 » Tue Jun 29, 2010 7:32 pm

I was wondering if there is a needle valve spring that is suppose to be installed in the carb for the 420 Crawler. Ever since I rebuilt I have been having flooding issues like the bowl is stuck flooding carb w fuel. I didn't think there was a spring in original material when disassembled but there was one in rebuild kit that I didn't install.

You can go to a web site such as Robert's Carbs and see the complete parts diagram.

No spring, sometimes there is a small clip, but that is to get the needle to open, nothing to do with closing.
It might be a bad seat, only option might be to replace it with a new one. If you can, get a Viton needle, normally they will seal better than a metal needle. Also be sure to check that you do not have any binding of the float.
