threaded end on steering lever

threaded end on steering lever
Would any of of you happen to know ifthe top of the steering lever are cast in or if they are screwed in or what? Mine is broken and I thought about drilling and tapping it. I'M just putting the finishing touches on left side steering clutches all I have to do is the adjustments. ANy suggestions,And yes I have the mannuals. just would like some moral support. randy

Steering levers are cast steel, they weld easily with wire or stick. Just cut the threaded portion off of a 7/16" bolt and as Lavoy said weld it on. The handle grips screw onto that thread.
