I haven't checked the reverser pressures yet, but when shes hot and you throw the reverser in f or r it will bog the crawler and it will barely move. It will go in a lower gear, but it is really laboring the engine as soon as you press the foot clutch the engine will come right back to life. I'm guessing it's time for a reverser rebuild, anything else to check first?
On another note it seems like the hydraulic oil is getting awfully hot. Does anybody know what the normal operating temp for the hydraulic oil is on one of these little crawlers.
Thanks
350B Reverser?
The operators manual says normal operating temp is 150F to 180F.
Check the Reverser oil level before doing any pressure tests. Set engine RPM to 1900. Check pressures in this order: Clutch Oil Regulator Valve (110-130 psi), Cooler Inlet Regulator Valve(87-103 psi), Lube Regulating valve(20-30 psi).
The service manual says to change the reverser oil and filter every 500 hrs.
The reverser has it's own cooler which is located in the bottom tank of the radiator.

power loss
Just a thought. My Case 580 backhoe lost power and it turned out to be an added hydraulic diverter valve for some unknown attachment. My 450C has such a valve to divert hydraulic oil from the dozer blade to the backhoe. Since I don't have a backhoe attachment this valve just shunts oil back to the tank, but apparently would use power in that process, particularly if it was accidentally moved half way. Its an odd circumstance but one to keep in the back of one's mind.

Wish I had paid more attention to Jacks post. For the life of me I couldn't figure out this problem b/c it was so intermittent.
Turns out that the coupler that for the backhoe was shot and would disconnect just a small amount, but enough to stop flow.... labor the pump.... and bog the motor.
I love simple fixes. too bad it took a month to figure out.
Thanks guys
