1010 sproket wont fit!

Post by zippy1wood » Sun Nov 28, 2010 5:54 pm

Hi havent been on in a year, hope all is well.
I have a 1010 diesel crawler loader, I bought this left track was off,had to
take final off, most of the small bolts where broken,I got them all out ,that
was a joy! I was told the guy tried to roll chain on,and did some damage.
anyway put final on today went to put on a sproket he got from dealer in
junk machines in NH .supposed to be good with parts. so I got it over a couple studs and its hitting the center of rear roller and I cant get it to sit flat just jammes side ways,it looks the same as right side but in better shape,I measured the rear cross bars they look equal in length ,I measured the teath outside to outside across the middle. Both sides newer one is about 22 inches across right side is around 21 inches. I dont know if its the wrong one it looks dam near the same just a bit larger
I dont know if that is wear on the right side, any thoughts? this has very good tracks I may part this out,if it doesnt work after its done From MA Thankls Kevin

Is your back roller wore out or maybe the undercarriage is out of adjustment. I would check with those two things first.

I vaguely remember a post a few years back where someone else had a similar problem- I think it ended up that he had worn bearings in the final drive that were causing the sprocket to be more forward than it was supposed to!

I'll see if I can't search for the post.

EDIT:

These aren't necessarily specific to the 1010 but the issues are similar:

To support Tigerhaze's position you might also want to look at the following discussion thread:
