Heres some pics to my new 2010. It needed a water pump so I tore into it before taking any pictures. Picked it up Wed and it drove, steered, reversed, etc. All hyd seemed to work and seems to run just fine. Found it off craigslist and got it for $1500 with the hoe. I cant wait to get it together and try her out. Working on a good once over and trying to get all fluids and filters changed before I really run it and see what I got. Im not really sure how to post pictures but will give it try.

I believe a few carrage returns scattered among the photo links will help get the pictures organized into vertical rows.

So...you bought the hoe & they threw in the crawler? It would have to have some terrible problems to not wind up as a steal!

Yea- I really lucked out...and ALMOST feel guilty! The sad part was it was the ol mans tractor and his kid had no interest in it. He posted the ad for an 820 crawler (loader model#) and I figured someone was going to get it so why not me. The kid advertised 2k but said anything over or equal to scrap price would be fine. We agreed on $1500 and I RAN to the bank to get cash. 1/2 hour later I had her running and drove it on the trailer! Turned fine, shifted nice, still had the sideplates even. Most of the gauges even work. Everything works except the trans temp gauge. It sure looks like recent sprockets, idlers, and such to me. The bushings have no wear to speak of but the grouser pads are shot. Hyd track adj still work. I think a lot of folks prefer worn out pads so they dont tear the ground up so bad. Anyway I'll be looking for pads and a ROPS/cage. Anyone no how a 350 canopy would fit?

I think you got a pretty good deal for the price- who am I kidding, a great deal for a parts machine price!
FYI, the front idler looks like it is at the end of its adjustment on the trackframe, so I wonder how much internal wear is on pins/bushings?. Maybe it is just the angle of the photo but it does look pretty far out. The way to check is to measure the internal wear across 5 links- procedure is posted in another thread that I can find if needed.
Is your machine a pre-42,000 or post-42,000 serial number?

-Thanks Tigerhaze. There is about 2 1/2"-3" left of adj at the front trackframe. As for the serial # I dont know...the plate is missing of course. I just bought fuel filters and I think there was a break at # 24xxx- where they took either a fuel filter with attached bowl or an element just inside the can. So that may put it after 24xxx. I also read (I think from one of your posts) that sprocket serial # can determine between late or early models. The 820 loader is # 124. I wanted to put some cash in his hands real quick because his cell phone was ringing off the hook with people answering his ad. It looked at it late the day or 2 before and ran out of daylight. I bought it without really knowing what I was getting into except for what I could see visually and knew the engine ran well. When I put it in gear and it moved I was smiling, and my smile got bigger as I turned left, then turned right, then reversed, then to low, to high, etc. I loaded the hoe in the bucket and carried it about 60 yds to load it up. It took some finese and messing around so I got a good feel for everything working atleast. It was dark when I unloaded so I tried the front lights...I'll be damned, both lit up! My buddy says I better go buy a lottery ticket with my luck! ha. I even got 3/4 full old bucket pump with good track and roller grease that you cant find anymore for the rollers! I had been looking for one for awhile. My wife is picking up the water pump parts and filters as we speak so I should be able to get her together and really try things out tomarrow. Just a service and a few hoses for now and see where it leads...
Thanks

Let me say on behalf of the other crawler lovers, you got a heck of a deal! I love to see this happen to folks as it helps carry the hobby forward. There are too many times when people get "stuck" or buy something without proper knowledge and then it puts a bad taste in their mouth for the hobby.
It took me a while to figure out posting pics, you got it quickly!
One thing that is nice on this baord is you can go back and edit your own post.
If you go back and line the picture links up under each other with the same amount of space between each, it will make them easier to see.
Once again, congradulations. Don't sneeze too hard, that horse shoe may come out.

That should be enough room for adjustment, so sounds like you got a machine with relatively new pins and bushings. Your rails also looked like they had decent height so other than pads you should be good to go! You can even use with existing pads until you round the bolts off and the pads start falling off, although traciton will suffer in slippery conditions.
What a deal- I don't blame you one bit for jumping on it.
