I rebuilt my water pump only to have the reverser start leaking after I got it back together. I pulled the motor today, took about 4 hrs. This end of the machine sure is easy to work on.
So now I am looking at the reverser input, the seal looks pretty simple. I wonder if there is a way to find out if the gasket needs to be replaced as well. That could be much more involved and I really don't want to get into it. I'm thinking of putting some air pressure into the case thru the filler/dip stick and look for leaks.
Can someone help me with the torque specs for the pump cover holding the seal? I suppose I'd need the torque for the reverser front cover if I decide to take it off and the 4 engine bolts. I doubt I'll be able to get a good torque reading on the engine bolts but they'd be nice to know.
Any other tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thanx!
