Delco 10SI Alternator Conversion Bracket.

Instead of hijacking another thread with these I decided to start another thread.

This is the conversion bracket to mount a 10SI Delco Remy Alternator in place of the original generator. When I bought the crawler it had a "Universal" conversion bracket on it. It was kind of rickety looking to me, so I built this one before I tore the crawler down to little pieces.

A lot of people do not add the tube and support ear to the rear of the alternator and wonder why it flops around. The tube I used came out of a Chiller unit I cut up as an apprentice in the trades. The ear helps support the alternator and prevents the cast mounting ear from breaking.

I had to build another upper support arm also, the original one would not work with this bracket.

440, it might be a couple of weeks before I can post up more photos of the bracket as I am in a serious thrash of my shop. I went to look at two mills and a surface grinder, bought the surface grinder and one mill, then last Saturday when I picked up the surface grinder I got the second mill for scrap value. So I have to gut the front of my shop, pour a concrete floor and too much more to write here to make room for my new toys.
If I stumble across the bracket and have the camera handy I will take more photos and post them up.

No problem Dan. Take your time. I have so much to do on the crawler... The alternator is far away from alternating! I had minor things to fix until I reached the final drives... Bull gear and axle need attention left side, new bearings and seal needed, steering clutch shafts have been welded, fibers, brake band ruined with oil, transmission bearings, a differentiel... I could write down the whole parts book with what I need. First crawler, I find the purshase price high now... Not as good as the seller ''thought'' it was. we learn.
