Looking for reverser parts

Post by John K 1959 » Thu Dec 15, 2011 8:28 pm

I am looking for the sliding sleeve part # T11131T for the reverser in my 440.The one that I have has a crack in it. I could weld it but the weld would be in the way of the shifting fork unless I had it machined out after welding. That will be my only option if I can not locate a good one. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is a wonderful site and all of you guys are a wealth of knowledge.I purchased a 440 IC about 3 months ago and have browsed the site for many answers to questions about the machine. It was built in 1960 and when I got it it had been sitting in the timber for 12 years and the motor was locked up. I have the block being bored and had the head redone, I sand blasted the frame and major components and am slowly going through the machine. Oh it has the 831 loader on it but no weight box. I am trying to get some pictures to post but I am not sure how to do that. Any how thanks for a great site and all of your knowledge!!

This is the best site by far. Lavoy does an excellent job of keeping the rip rap off of here so it is almost entirely crawlers guys (and gals?) that love the hobby and enjoy helping and sharing.

To post pics, use a free host such as "photobucket.com". You simply go on that site, register, and they have instructions on how to upload pics to your page and to download this to this site.

There are also threads on here about how to do it, search "posting pictures".

Lavoy , I sent you an email and JD440 thank you for your response about the picture posting I will see if I can get some pictures of the old girl put up. This is my first crawler but I have a few wheeled tractors under my belt, even with that I am learning a whole lot on the crawler. Have a great day all!

John K,

I am partial to the 440 crawlers. They are rugged, and will do amazing work for a 6,000 LB or so crawler.

You have found the right site. If we do know the answers to your questions, we will entertain you with our guesses.

Just kidding, there are some very knowledgeable folks on here that are eager to help in any way they can.

We love pics, you really cannot post too many.

Well I decided to weld the sleeve and it all worked out ok. I was able to leave some extra weld since the shifting fork did not make contact in the area of the weld. I feel pretty confident that it will hold up fine. Now if I just had the reverser reinstalled.................................
I am still working on the pics
