450 crankcase oil contamination
Well I will add to Leonard's gloom you have a small leak in the sleeve area and that is how it starts as a milky scum on the motor oil.At this point it is only pushing out under pressure when engine is running.Later it will dump out as the hole gets bigger and lay on the oil .When you run the motor then the oil will turn milky. So just watch don't run the motor on the milky crud and adjust your bank account for future piston and sleeve replacement .Digitup.

Last night on the way home I stopped and got a 180 degree thermostat and put it in . When I pulled the radiator cap it still had pressure in it, had sat since Saturday afternoon. Looked like it had the original one in it. It looks kinda like a butterfly type valve? It was closed so I was skeptical that a new one would make a difference. I also pulled the vent tube and it was pretty nasty. I'm not sure it was completely clogged but it definitely had a large amount of carbon, oil and milky goo inside of it. I hosed it out with really hot water and put it back on. Then I fired it up and let it run at mid throttle(no tach). After about 10 minutes it was up to 170 degrees. Let it run for about 45 minutes and watched the temp and oil pressure then shut it down. While it was running their was quit a bit of "steam" coming out of the vent tube, but I couldn't make out a sweet smell. Checked the oil level and it was the same as started, oil pressure was steady around 50 while running, 20-25 at idle. The milky substance on the dipstick was still their but no worse and nothing on the bottom of the filler cap. Thoughts? Thanks Paul
