Andre is that you?
Back in 1979 the Mississippi and Illinois rivers flooded and caught a fair amount of farm machinery that had been parked in previously unflooded sheds. I was still in high school but was helping a guy, and what was done in a pinch was all the oil was drained and put in a cut-in-half barrel and heated until it was too hot to touch but not really hot, so I'd guess 150 degrees, and there was a spigot on the bottom of the barrel that would then get cracked open and all the water separated and was drained.
It worked pretty well for separating the water out, but I suspect it was also mostly non detergent oil which allows the junk to settle out better which would include the water.
Anyway, hope that helps you!

I didn't take the picture, I went on the web trying to find a sunken JD so it would be more appropriate but couldn't find one easily so I grabbed that pic.
However, I did take this pic of one I helped extract a few years ago:
The dozer had gotten stuck in mud while making a pond and it was going to be a few days before it could get pulled out by something larger, so what can happen in a few days right? I think about 2 1/2" of rain happened!

I'm not sure if you meant engine oil or tractor hydraulic fluid, but one trick for hydraulic fluid is water absorbers; several people have mentioned good success using those especially for the loader hydraulic tanks:andregrondin wrote:Hi !
