We go to MDI for a week every summer and usually stay in Tremont. You live in a beautiful area. Great place to run the around!

When are you here? Do you go to any of the shows? Or is it to forget about life for a week?

Yep, forget about life. But I guess that is the point of wrenching on rusty old junk as well, lol.

I believe we are coming this year third week in July. Didn't know there were any shows in the area. My kids would love to go if there is one on that week.

So I figure I need to replace my rockshaft arms. So I made up this crude drawing of the clamps. The clamps will be made from 1" x 1" steel barstock. The square on my tractor off the corners measures 1.375". Each bar will have a .5" v-notch cut into the sides. There will be .5 inch holes drilled through the sides. Onto the ends I will weld on some .5" x 2" plate. The fellow on Ebay had ball ends in the end of the arms. Yet originals just had a .5" hole so that is what I will use.

Think SPRING!

Think GREEN!

Think grass needs to be cut!

Think of fields!

Think of things that could be done!

Oh and it would help if you have a purty tractor to do it with....

As promised, a video of the tractor going uphill. Grin the joys of idling in 6th gear and having a good governor.

Are you certain you have the carb and timing right? It did not pop or skip one time.
It begs the question why anyone would ask, "why a two cylinder John Deere?
Power versus fuel burn was on top until the 1980's. It is still considered a genius engine design, even by today's standards!
