Other engines that will bolt into 2010?!?!?!

Post by 05victorylly » Wed Dec 12, 2012 11:13 pm

Just a thought here guys, are there other engines that would match up to the 2010 tranny? Wondering because there are many parts that can no longer be purchased so when its time to rebuild the motor I am wondering if instead you could bolt up a motor from a JD350 or 450.

Just a thought.

HAHA i knew it wouldn't be a popular opinion, but I have been looking around and I cannot seem to find a lot of the internal parts.

Everything should be available as far as internals.

We have had a lot of discussions about engine swaps for 2010s- there were similar engines to 2010s in combines, generators, wheel tractors, etc. If you do a search of the archives you will find those discussions- in particular search for 45 combine and you will find them.

As Lavoy said, most parts for 2010 engines (although pricey for diesels becuase Deere only) are still available and he stocks some of them. The engines aren't the main part availability issue on 2010s- it is mainly portions of the undercarriage.
