40c tracks

Post by RacinJason » Thu Dec 20, 2012 7:36 pm

Sorry, Yellow, I meant the hyd. system on MY 40C was a butcher job. I has a large canister shaped oil rerervoir sitting in the RH fender and What appears to be pipe elbows for fittings, rather than true hyd. fittings. They may be high pressure, though, as they've been working for many years. Also, the control valve has two valves, but only one hooked up, as it is only a two way blade. The blade leaks down, so I may change over to the other side, to see if the blade holds. :-)
My segment of track-links has arrived, three links. The bushings appear to be built up the way I was considering, although such a nice job I can't really tell without doing some grinding. If so, they will definately have to be cut. Most folks use a cutting torch, but for experimental purposes a .047" cutting wheel will be a lot neater.
