Water
Just wanted to say how important it is to keep your tractors covered up when not in use. I just rebuilt a trans for an MC that that otherwise would have just needed an oil change if it wasn't for the pitting and corrosion from water in it. 6 new baring's and one for the belt pulley, 2 speedy sleeves 5 seals and a used input shaft with cluster gear = $921.50 A good tarp priceless
nothing crawles like a deere

Even with a good tarp or in the shed here in the north country these crankcases and gearcases get condensation which I drain off each spring. Most have about a cup of water in them.
More if left out in the rain.
Drained a Jd D last week. Had over 5 gallons of water in it.
A good silicone calk to seal crankcases covers priceless.
Best to keep em dry.
