JD450 Serial # Location

It may sound stupid, but I don't know where to look for the serial #. Thank you for any assistance.

It's not a stupid question- it should be on the left side kick plate as you are seated in the crawler.
(1) JD Straight 450 crawler dozer with manual outside blade; (2) JD 2010 diesel crawler loaders; (1) JD 2010 diesel dozer with hydraulic 6-way blade; (2) Model 50 backhoe attachments, misc. other construction equipment

Serial Number Location 450 crawler - alternate location

looking for serial number on what I think is 450 JD crawler.
under seat, where left heal would hit if you pull your feet back is the hour meter. On right side, there is 1 brad left.....this looks like it might have been for a tag at one time. The serial number tag perhaps? It is gone.

Is there any other way I can determine serial number or any other location I might find it?

I am having the same problem. I don't truly know what machine I have. My hour meter is opposite of what you described. It is toward the front of machine. You would hit it with your left toes if you kicked forward while sitting on machine.
