Post by NNAATZ » Thu Jan 24, 2013 10:30 pm

does the clutch slave 'float' on the spider?, then bolts in the spider (pockets in the bands) drive the drum? when chutch is applied?

sorry for the lack of better words

The slave arms floats for lack of a better term. When the clutch slave is applied the floating arm pushes against the larger band and applies the clutch.

The spider drives from the opposite side, there is a shaft that goes through the middle of the drum. When the clutch bands are engaged, that locks the spider to the drum and spools the winch in.

im bound to make this thing work! not really worth it but i am! lol. im slowly picking up on it. i understand the shaft but i could not see what the bands were pushing against on the spider. what is the purpose of the two bands?

i apologize for the dense moments!

The narrowest band is the one actuated by the clutch slave mount or arm, or whatever you want to call it. When it is in contact with the drum, it pushes on the slave cylinder mount, and forces it to engage the large clutch band.
