2-53 serial number serial numbers different for Deere???????

Post by Lavoy » Sun Feb 17, 2013 8:29 pm

My local Detroit shop keeps telling me that I am giving them the wrong engine serial number. They say it should be a longer number, and all I find is a 4 digit number after 2D, I am in the 9,000 range. I am beginning to think that the 2-53's shipped to Deere carry a different serial number range. If so, really screws things up at the parts counter.

put a "511" or "512" in front of the number and see if he likes that.

I think there are 4 numbers under the ones you are reading. Add those to your upper numbers.
I gave the dealer all those numbers and they were able to find the engine/parts.
