Gearmatic winch removal

Post by JimG » Sun Mar 10, 2013 6:06 pm

Can anyone tell me the most efficient way to remove an 8A gearmatic winch from a 1010. I've got to do my steering clutches and dont want to remove more than I have to but not sure if I can remove the entire winch and adapter plate as an assembly or its best to disassemble.
Thanks,
Jim

All depends on what you have to support the weight.
If done by "armstrong " fewer parts the better.
If you have a cherry picker take all at once. Or hilo, lift, overhead crane.

Is it necessary to remove the winch to get to the clutches? gregjo1948
