my 70 model JD450 will not shutoff immediatleywhen I turn off the key(or pull the power connector at the pump).
if I tap on the side of the pump or just wait it will eventually closed the solenoid and die. I know the solenoid is sticking, I am just not sure how to fix it.
any suggestions on how to replace the shutoff solenoid?

The replacement parts are no longer available for that model. I would suggest removing the solenoid, plunger and spring and make sure they are clean and re-install. It is obviously working to open but the spring is not seating the plunger when the solenoid is unpowered.

yep, I know that, the strike marks are from the previous owner, but thanks for your concern.

There is an aftermarket solution. I bought it. About $100. Complete replacement of solenoid. Works perfect. Everytime
