420c hydraulic cylinder seals
420c hydraulic cylinder seals
I am needing to replace the top seal on the hydraulic cylinders for the blade on my 420c. Does anyone know a part number for this seal and where to purchase it at? Are these seals easy to replace? I have never replaced these before. I really appreciate the information that has been provided on my other questions while getting this dozer back together.
No way to know without knowing the specifics of the blade, factory or non, which model number, original cylinder, etc.

The part you asked about is a wiper seal, primarily used to keep dirt out of the cylinder, not to keep oil in. If your cylinder is leaking it is from a seal or packing within the cylinder. Depending on the design, you have to remove a threaded fitting, spring clip, etc. to remove the end of the cylinder. If you know the model or at least the maker of your bulldozer blade, like Lavoy said, someone may be able to better help you. Alternatively a photograph of the end of the cylinder would help. Gil
