Broken MC Clutch Drive Shaft

Post by clarkwd » Sun Apr 28, 2013 4:31 pm

My tractor sat outside all winter in a display at a local restaurant. When I went to pick it up, the drivers side clutch was stuck. I got it loaded and off the truck in my yard and proceeded to the nearest big tree to break it loose. I thought I was careful, but after I got it towed back in my garage I discovered your classic torsion failure of a ductile specimen. As was noted elsewhere here, the two piece clutch drive shaft is only available as a field install option. I'm in the market for a drive shaft. The tree was not harmed.
